Feather tooth and claw
You think we’re dead?
Your’e fucking wrong!
Those dinosaurs are standing strong!
10,000 species still roam the sky
Descendents of the ones who died
Humanity is under threat
The heavens crowd, the date is set
We bide our time
For your demise
In feather, tooth and claw
Humanity will fall!
about
Dinomania was a punk band formed in 2004, in Brighton. With a love of evolutionary biology and dinosaurs, we set out to make a bunch of accurate dinosaur costumes (complete with feathers where appropriate) for three infamous shows. We were joined by our friendly neighbourhood geneticist who had engineered us, and through the medium of music, managed to communicate with us - (our friend Tom would wear a white coat and carry a clipboard and famously pronounce the silent P in pterodactyl when introducing us to the crowd.)
We’d stalk through the audience, grab our instruments and mics, and play.
Despite the month of work on the costumes, complete with tails and actual flapping wings, it was a short lived band, the final nail in the coffin was our Dilophosaurus, who proclaimed he had no interest in dinosaurs and wanted to start an indie rock band.
The 8 song EP is the only recording of the band, besides some old cassette tapes. Recorded through a single mic on a minidisc player (truly archaic technology at this stage) Its raw and sloppy as hell, but its an adventure 65 million years in the making.
The 8 song EP will be released on cassette tape for the first time ever very soon. More news to follow.
Disclaimer - We are aware Pterodactyls are not dinosaurs but are in fact flying reptiles!
